Thank you for reading more of my blog. I hope my words resonate with you, and that the tips I share act as a cushion for the bumpy ride that lies ahead. Through each blog post, I intend to share what I explored on my own journey back to health; what I experienced and discovered; all the steps I took and how I managed the fears when confronted with an MS diagnosis in 2007. I will also reveal why my self-discovery journey has become one of the most self-fulfilling experiences of my life.

Disease is NOT the End

The first thing I’d like you to realise is that being diagnosed with a disease doesn’t have to signal the end of your life. It can also be a wake-up call that will transform your life in a positive way. The only difference between your two options is mindset. How you see your disease and how you feel about it – that’s what’s going to make all the difference.

What is Mindset?

So what is mindset and how do you change it? And first of all, how do you know what your current mindset is?

I will be going through these subjects in more detail in further posts, but generally speaking, your mindset is made up of your beliefs about yourself and your life. This can give clues on how you see your recovery, whether you see possibilities or not.

Knowledge Helps Too

I will also talk in future posts about the connection between the mind and the body,  immune and nervous system, and neurotransmitters. I will share with you the material I have researched from neuroscience and psychology. The plan? Awareness of your body, how you perceive life and how it’s all interconnected. The goal?  Understand your situation, clear fears away, discover options for action available to you, have peace of mind.

There Will Be Clues & Hidden Powers

Any autoimmune disease is an expression of the body saying, ”if you don’t stop, I’ll stop you”, and each particular disease has a hidden message reflected in the body. Discovering that message can be a clue to help you pinpoint what you need to work on – it could be high stress levels, an unresolved issue from the past, or other feelings or thoughts draining your energy without you noticing. Discovering that key-link can help you free yourself from unnoticed pain. Though that journey can in itself be painful, it is worth the risk for the benefits it brings in the long term.

Just bear in mind that, if the word autoimmune means your immune system is attacking your body, doesn’t that mean it’s you doing the attacking? This can be a harsh concept to realise, but it’s also a crucial one. If you had the power to ‘do’ this to yourself, you also have the power to do something about it. It’s just a matter of finding the strength to accept responsibility, mobilising the courage to start your journey and learning how to deal with deep fear.

Start now!

You can do it. There’s a rainbow waiting for you between the clouds. I’m here to help.

“This too shall pass”. Osho
